(First Image to the Left)
This assignment was first given to us as an independent assignment. We were given a blank map of Latin America and were told to fill in what we already knew. By looking at the first map to can tell that it is filled randomly with different countries and capitals. I struggled with the correct placement and correct names for all of the 33 countries. (Second Image to the Left) This assignment was the 2nd draft of the Latin America map, this time we were given the opportunity to work with partners and our peers. The difference between this map compared to my first would be the organization. After communicating with my peers, I learned a lot about each specific country and their capital. I was am to label every country along side their capitals and know what each countries native language is. |
Old Map of North AmericaWho did the map favor? Why?
(Image to the Right) Within this image of an older North American it is divided into four different area. each representing a different part, either a state of country. Specifically with this map they are favoring the the dark red area. Most of the colors are balanced with the amount of space they have, besides for the light green area. Comparing all of the four area, I conclude that the dark red and green have the most favor with their shares of land. This is due to the fact that together they take up more than half of North America. They also have more control over the smaller islands making it appear bigger then the others. What has happened since & Who was affected? This image is representing North America in the 1800's, specifically 1826. Since then, a lot with North America has evolved. As of now their are 10 different countries within this specific area of the map visual representation. In order for this land to be broken up and divided into different countries multiple wars had to occur. Focusing on the Southwestern area the Mexican-American War divided up Mexico and created more room in America. This war is one of many others in history that divided and concord other pieces of land, that play an important roll in the creation of North America. |
