| Newton's Law | In my class, we did a series of experiments. We had different stations where we tried to figure out why specific things happens. We study a total of eight. Everyone of the experiments had a different use of newtons laws. We learn about all three of the different rules. And how they can help use in our research.
| Bernoulli's Principle | One assignment our teacher gave us to help us understand who Bernoulli was: by taking a field trip to an airport. In the airport they showed us a series of different airplanes. The explained to us how each one worked. Also how the the four forces are applied on a plane. Drag, Lift, Weight and Thrust.
Physical Work
| Bernoulli Worksheet | After taking the field trip the airport we were given a packet of work. On this packet there were a series of questions referring to the four forces. One question asked us to draw a diagram of a plane and display where the four forces were applied. We did this for three different planes.
| Experiment Testing | After learning about Newton's and Bernoulli's laws and principles we had to do some testing of our own. We had to question the unknown. We were put into a group of four and had to become scientist. This was a little bit of a challenge because we were studying something we didn't know how to do.
Our Experiment Questioning Our Thoughts
| Our Question | Depending on the angle we released the ball will it impact the distance made on the ramp?
| Our Study | The way our group came up with his question was by playing with a small ping pong ball. We wanted to question something about that had to do with motion. Than we created a ramp to drop the ball. And than we used a piece of wood to make sure we released the ball at the correct angle. What we saw happen was the higher the ball was released the shorter it went. We showed this by putting it into a graph. After, collecting all of our information we had to present it to the class. The presentation had to be a least 10 minutes long and everyone in your group had to speak. Our group did a successful presentation and received a great grade.
Final Product Mousetrap Car
| First Step | We were in group of four by in our groups we had to chose a partner to work with. We started by drawing out what we wanted to do with the mousetrap. We than out it to scale and than we started to put together the materials list.
| Racing Time | During our race we need to have the car go five meters. We were supposed to be in in four different races. You can use the same car but you have to change something for every race. Our car has not been raced use we are working on building it. But our idea is to have the mousetrap in the front of car to have the distance higher. Our wheels are going to be different heights. Our wheels are made out of dixie cups and soda bottle caps. Out body for the car is made out of cardboard with the mousetrap on top.
