An Area of Success: -Vocab Story's I feel that my Vocab Stories are a success of mine because the grade I receive on them. I also feel that creative writing is one of my strongest types of writing. I find it a great way to write about something interesting but learn some new words. Writing these stories helps with how I learn the words. It one thing to know the word but it a whole other when you learn how to use it. Where Do I Need To Grow: -Reading When it comes to reading I enjoy reading books of my choice. When ti comes to reading in class: Shakespeare. I become more shy and don't feel as comfortable reading it. I feel that I could improve this by reading more on my free time. Practice makes prefect and reading more will only improve my reading level. Connections: -Humanities and Art When it comes to making art you have to use your knowledge of a subject to make something meaningful. We wrote our Look @ Me Now we had to use that for our art piece. Now with or exhibition project coming up we want to talk about social justice and after reading the Othello book we learned more about racial issues in history.
Art
An Area of Success: -Look at Me Now My first draft of this project came out great. I used pencil to put my ideas down onto the paper. I was very proud of the outcome. I feel that I work best with shading and drawing. Doodling different size and shapes is what I do best. Where Do I Need To Grow: -Painting My final draft of the Look At Me Now wasn't as great as the first. I have never worked with water color but I got the chance to learn how to. I am better with material that I can control. And watercolor is harder to control. There were time when I wanted to make the paint mix but then others it did it all by itself. Connections: -Social Change Project For the last couple of weeks we have been looking at different artwork and searching for inspiration. These showed me that we are surrounded by art. For example, our garage is art. When looking at art it's important that you see the deeper meaning to it and when looking at the world you could find the deep meaning to things. When reading to can see how the author uses the cover to represent the message of the book, same with movies.
Math
Enjoy Most: -Freedom & Understanding When it comes to presenting something in class he is very open about it. Even though he picks us through sticks. He focuses on the way we try to solve instead of the answer we get. He say that he is very protect of his presenter and I think that's a good idea. If you're shy with the answer you got or how you got it. He is very understanding about our different levels of math.
